April 2020 Forecast

Posted in Forecasts.

Will April be as cheery as this photo? Highly unlikely, but we need to see some pretty images!

My overall take of April is that the first full week into the second week are pretty intense (and not in a good intense way.) There is a lessening of pressure the further we get into the month, but I do feel like any relief coming our way towards the end of the month could be slightly premature or temporary. Here’s what to expect.

As I have mentioned in other forecasts this year, April starts off with a Mars and Saturn conjunction in Aquarius.

The result is likely nervous, even slightly frenetic energy. Watch for increasing restlessness or even panic. Mars and Saturn together are like hitting the gas pedal (Mars) and the brake pedal (Saturn) at the same time which results in frustration at minimum, if not broken parts.

On April 3, Venus enters Gemini where it will stay for the next four months as it will spend the May-June retrograde period in this sign and not actually leave Gemini until August.

Venus in Gemini is known for being very chatty and curious. People with this placement usually flit from one social situation to the next. So, this astrologer is wondering how this placement will fare given all the social butterflies are locked up in their houses?

April 4 sees the exact conjunction of Jupiter and Pluto.

As I’ve stated previously, watch for major global announcements and for things to blow up even more as Jupiter inflates the Plutonian crisis. This aspect is also often associated with major religious movements or global mobilizations. That said, there could be a cooperative energy with Jupiter here so there might be some coming together to strategize around the world. (Fingers tightly crossed.)

The Full Moon at 18 degrees of Libra on April 7 is one of the most difficult Full Moons first responders will see for awhile as this same day Mars squares Uranus.

Known as an accident aspect in astrology, this combination is associated with restlessness, irrationalism, impatience and anxiety on a good day, and significant shocks and sudden violence on a bad day. It will likely act as a trigger or culminating point for individuals within nations, within an entire world, really, who are waiting to hear about what self-isolation has done to the curve.

The good news is that Mercury, the planet of communications, leaves Pisces (where it has been overwhelmed and emotional since the beginning of February) and enters the sign of Aries on April 10.

Aries is a doer. Communications should be less muddled going forward, and we should start to hear of more specific action plans addressing the pandemic on various levels. In the midst of an emergency, you’d want a Mercury in Aries in charge; these are the blunt, if not bossy people who spring into action to cut through the drama and get to the innovative solution.

After squaring Pluto and Jupiter on the 14th and 15th which could cause some minor bumps (hey, what are a few more?), the Sun enters the sign of Taurus on April 19.

This could be an interesting shift perhaps toward new information coming to light about Taurus-ruled areas like food/agriculture, finance/economics and even real estate/property. Look for specific roll-outs of programs relating to these industries particularly when…

… the Moon also enters the sign of Taurus on April 22 signalling a new Moon.

The 22nd just also happens to be Earth Day. On a lighter note, could there be a more appropriate configuration for Earth Day than a New Moon in Taurus, the sign most closely associated with the Earth? Usually, a new Moon in Taurus is one of my favourite new Moons of the year. To me, it really starts signalling spring and the planting of new seeds (literally and figuratively). So, if I had to choose an optimistic day or potential turning point this month, it would be April 22. My only caveat is that Uranus figures into this New Moon so there is still an element of unpredictability associated with what is usually a pretty stable and dependable new Moon. Thus, there could still be some surprises coming our way April 22 through to April 26… especially because Pluto stations retrograde on April 25 which usually intensifies its influence for a few days.

On April 27, Mercury leaves no-nonsense Aries who has been battling the flames for the last few weeks and joins the Sun in earthy Taurus.

The outlook turns more methodical and there should be talk of forecasts and long-term planning. Look for a potentially more practical, steady tone from our leaders instead of the impassioned pleas we have been used to seeing for weeks now.

Looking ahead to May, the only main planetary configuration I see as particularly limiting next month is the Venus retrograde… more about that and what to expect next month.
