Aside from a Mercury retrograde in Pisces and the inescapable stellium in Capricorn (Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto), the month is fairly tame. Just don’t expect communications to go well.
On February 3, Mercury—the planet of communications, learning, short distance travel and technology—enters the sign of Pisces.
Mercury isn’t exactly thrilled to be in this sign; Pisces isn’t known for its direct and logical communication skills. Your ability to write poetry and read tarot cards might increase, but not anything practical. Sometimes, Mercury in Pisces feels almost like a retrograde… so when the planet actually goes retrograde mid-month, you are bound to really feel it.
On February 7, Venus—the planet of relationships and to a lesser extent finances—leaves its sweet exalted state in the sign of Pisces and enters feisty Aries.
This me-first placement will urge givers to start taking and could cause some friction in relationships due to the assertive force of Aries.
February 9 sees a Full Moon at 20 degrees of Leo.
The Full Moon symbolizes the flower at its peak of bloom or the fruit in the peak of perfection. Finishing off a project to do with Leonine subjects like leadership, creativity or children is a great use of this energy. Dare to do something new.
On February 13, Mercury enters its storm period of the retrograde which means that it is moving less than 40 minutes of arc per day.
This is usually when people start noticing Mercury’s difficulties. The planet officially goes retrograde on February 16 where it will remain until March 9. Need a Mercury retrograde refresher? Here are some tips and a cool animation from NASA.
That same day, Mars—the planet of vitality and physical force—enters the sign of Capricorn.
It does well in this sign; however, this time around, Mars will trigger the powerful stellium in Capricorn joining Jupiter, Saturn, Pluto and the South Node which could supercharge some of this intense energy. Those with significant Capricorn placements (Ascendant, Midheaven, Sun or stelliums) should watch this placement over the next few weeks. It could be the boost you need or, more likely, it could be the straw that breaks your back.
The Sun enters Pisces just a few minutes before midnight on February 18.
The Aquarian focus of the last month now shifts to dreamy Pisces.
The most Piscean time of the month occurs at the New Moon in Pisces on February 23.
Cuddle up with your cat, get out that paint-by-numbers kit you recently purchased, and pour yourself a cup of tea… or, a tall glass of wine… let’s face it – it’s Pisces after all. Aside from that annoying Mercury retrograde, there are lots of harmonious aspects this day so take the time to indulge your creative and spiritual side.
The month ends with an intense Venus-Pluto square on February 28.
This could trigger some deep thoughts, power struggles and extreme emotions in regards to your relationships or finances.
Thanks for the great forecast
It is my pleasure!
