This month offers some nice creative, reflective opportunities. Overall, it feels easier than January and February. Aside from what’s happening in your own personal chart (which could be very difficult), on a mundane level, there is more enjoyment to be had this month.
Mar 3 – Mars enters Gemini
Mars enters Gemini on March 3, and the pace picks up! If you know anyone with Mars in Gemini, you might have noticed their busy energy. They are usually doing multiple things at once. My daughter has this placement, and we have to actively get her to focus on one activity at a time. (Incidentally, Mars in Gemini is loosely associated with ADHD.) You can get a bunch done with this influence or you can get nothing done; it really depends on how well you are able to tap into this restless vibe.
March 4 – Mercury conjunct Jupiter
When Mercury and Jupiter get together, they are an optimistic, high-spirited pair. This is a nice day to do some writing, have an important conversation, or at the very least, curl up with a delicious book.
March 10 – A very Piscean day
I’m calling today a “very Piscean day”. The Sun in Pisces is conjunct Neptune in Pisces. And the Moon in conjunct Jupiter. Thus, both luminaries are attached to Pisces’ planetary rulers. While it’s not the most ideal day for clarity or practical matters, it is certainly lovely for anything creative, spiritual, service-oriented or that requires a great deal of energy.
March 13 – New Moon in Pisces & Venus conjunct Neptune
What a lovely day for a New Moon in Pisces. Venus in Pisces is also conjunct Neptune in Pisces this same day. How beautiful!
Every New Moon represents a new beginning, an opportunity to start fresh in a new area of life. As the Sun and Moon align, seeds are planted and new potentials begin to take form. The New Moon each month is a great time to align your wishes with the energy of the cosmos. One of the most potent ways to connect with the power of a New Moon is by creative intention setting through a process known as New Moon Wishing. Jan Spiller coined this phrase in her book “New Moon Astrology”. She suggests making your wishes within eight hours of the New Moon.
How to do this: Set aside a bit of time to reflect upon where you are in life today. Then, imagine where you’d love to be. It’s best to focus your dreams on the area of life linked to both the sign energy of the New Moon and the house area of your birth chart that the New Moon is energizing.
So, for example, if it’s a New Moon in Pisces, find where Pisces is in your chart, and focus your energy on a dream related to that specific part of your chart. You might want to even create a New Moon Wishing book where you record your wishes each month. If you do decide to record them, be sure to word them carefully and focus your wishes on things based around yourself. (Yes, New Moon wishes are a perfect time to be healthily selfish!) You could make a statement such as “I’d like to easily find myself…” and then focus on the changes you’d like to see both in the relevant sign and house areas. After writing these out, you could say them out loud to firmly imprint the ideas in your being. Then, take another moment to envision your life with these things happening, gone or going on, or whatever the wish may be.
This new Moon at 23 degrees of Pisces occurs at 5:21 am EST.
Pisces is a water sign, and water energy is about comfort and emotion. This is the time to stay in, spend time with loved ones, rest and remember your feelings. Moods are more obvious and feelings harder to contain. Intuition is strong and safety is more important as are creature comforts. If you’ve been waiting for the right time to start creatively inspired projects or a new spiritual/meditation ritual, you will not find a better time.
Neptune and Pisces encourage you to dance with the muses and escape daily life. Boundaries between your conscious and unconscious selves are blurred now, helping you access the wisdom of your divine self.
March 15 – Mercury enters Pisces
Coming off the heels of a very Piscean New Moon, Mercury, the planet of communications, also enters the sign of Pisces. Look, I’m a Pisces Sun and Moon, so I know what it means to be a Pisces. I find Mercury in Pisces to be a difficult natal position. These people are wonderfully intuitive, creative and spiritual. They can tune into other realms in a blink. But on a practical daily basis, they can struggle. So, with Mercury in the pink fog of Pisces over the next few weeks, just be sure to get important discussions and agreements in writing. Miscommunications, misunderstandings and even hurt feelings abound.
March 20 – The Spring Equinox & the Sun enters Aries
OMG – it is FINALLY spring! Okay, there still might be snow on the ground and we still might be walking around in parkas up here in Canada, but this is nature’s way of signalling that spring is officially on its way. The Spring Equinox marks the Sun’s passage from the southern to the northern hemisphere, and day and night are approximately equal in length.
This is the first sign that we are starting to move towards growth, so it’s no wonder this boost of energy and sunshine is associated with Aries, the first sign of the zodiac. With the Sun now in Aries, it’s time to get out there and start making things happen. We leave our dreamy Piscean cocoons, put on our hiking boots, and get ready for an Aries adventure.
For the next month, the focus is on moving out into the world, taking action, getting excited about life, building new things and seeing new growth. Did you know it’s also International Astrology Day?
March 21 – Venus enters Aries
Venus, the planet of relationships and beauty, leaves its exalted placement of Pisces and heads into its detriment (or exiled) placement of Aries. While there is something to be said about the energy, passion and enthusiasm with which Aries approaches Venusian matters, it’s not exactly tactful (read: blunt), patient (read: impatient), or concerned much with others (read: selfish). I’m a Venus in Aries baby, so I’m allowed to make these statements because this is something we definitely struggle with. For the next few weeks then, tap into the best parts of this vibe by introducing some new passion into your relationships. Be impatient with your humdrum routine of even home decor and spice things up with some love notes, spicey chocolates and exotic throw pillows!
March 23 – Mercury square Mars
Put simply, this is not a day for diplomatic talks. Impatience, impulsiveness and jumping to conclusions is in the air.
March 25 – Sun conjunct Venus in Aries
This is kind of a nice influence for socializing (if we’re allowed to in person by then)! Lots of chatter, laughter, connecting with others, and making people laugh. It lightens the mood.
March 28 – Full Moon 8 degrees Libra
The Full Moon in Libra reminds us to not step so far forward that we alienate others.
March 29 – Mercury conjunct Neptune
The last significant aspect of the month comes with Mercury’s conjunction to Neptune. If you have been wanting a day to write that song or poem, to have that breakthrough meditation or gather some spiritual insight, this could very well be your day.
